We have seen a few instances where our customers are running a print from one device to cut contour workflow via Mutoh Cut Server that takes advantage of the job barcode system only to find that on occasion the barcode does not match the print job.

This is almost always caused by a change being made after the print was made but before the cut contour was made to Mutoh Cut Server. If the change was only minor and you are confident that the cut path will still be accurate to the print then the Mutoh Cut Server job folder will contain the cut job with the wrong barcode details, by changing the numbers in the filename to match the numbers on the barcode in your print then it will recognise and cut to save your print.

To eliminate this problem when using Flexisign then we suggest using the “Rip & Print” option within Flexi (prior to the job arriving in Production Manager / Photoprint) and taking the time to make sure that you have set up ALL of the job settings and under the cutter select “Send as separate jobs”. This will send a different job into the print queue and the cut contour queue that will not require any changes at all. It is important in this workflow to not make any additional changes within Production Manager / Photoprint so that the jobs stay in sync with each other and the barcode is recognised properly.

If you continue to experience problems in this workflow please contact Cielab and we will work through this with you for a resolution.
